Recently Tappex Thread Inserts Ltd were approached by an Aerospace customer for applications support to assess & develop a robust fastening on a new Pilot's Helmet design.

Previously, other mechanical threaded fasteners had proven not to be sufficiently robust within a very tight packaging envelope in composite materials. Tappex approach was to assess both performance & ergonomic considerations and then manufacture 'proof of concept' , female threaded inserts for prototype trials (utilising bespoke Tappex, Trisert-3-316 Stainless steel features).  These were proven to be a successful and orders have now been placed for series supply.

Tappex has the capability to both offer  'off the shelf' and custom threaded fastening solutions with the support of experienced applications engineers, in-house testing and prototype services.

Tappex schedule to run a product & applications training workshop for their Distribution partner company: KVT during May 2010 in Illerreiden, Germany. Both office, field based sales and product management will be participating to take the oppportunity for both new & more experienced staff to receive thorough appreciation of the capabilities of Tappex fastening solutions for the multi-industry requirements of their regional markets.
