Recently Tappex Thread Inserts Ltd were approached by an Aerospace customer for applications support to assess & develop a robust fastening on a new Pilot's Helmet design.

Previously, other mechanical threaded fasteners had proven not to be sufficiently robust within a very tight packaging envelope in composite materials. Tappex approach was to assess both performance & ergonomic considerations and then manufacture 'proof of concept' , female threaded inserts for prototype trials (utilising bespoke Tappex, Trisert-3-316 features).  These were proven to be a successful and orders have now been placed for series supply.

Tappex has the capability to both offer  'off the shelf' and custom threaded fastening solutions with the support of experienced applications engineers, in-house testing and prototype services.

Tappex schedule to run a product & applications training workshop for their Distribution partner company: KVT during May 2010 in Illerreiden, Germany. Both office, field based sales and product management will be participating to take the oppportunity for both new & more experienced staff to receive thorough appreciation of the capabilities of Tappex fastening solutions for the multi-industry requirements of their regional markets.

Tappex has served, since the 1950's globally, the Plastic Industries, Composite Fabricators, OEMS and Mechanical Product(s) construction assembly operations both directly and/or through it's sales channel partners such as the KVT Group.

The Tappex Group of Companies based here in the UK continue to experience strengthening order book demand for their products & services. To this end, additional capacity has now been added to support both existing customers (UK & Export channels) and new customers who have identified Tappex because of it's reputation for technical innovation, quality & exemplary customer support.

Tappex plan to make further,long term investment in their capability this summer, by recruiting for several technical apprentices who will follow in the path of others now finishing their 3 year course of on/off-the-job studies & practical training programme.

This was a great opportunity for the Tappex Group to both communicate their extensive capabilities to the many and varied industrial visitors who came to the show, these along with existing customers who came to our professional stand, in person.

Enquiries were received and potential new Automotive supply chain customer contacts made, so this event was well worth the long drive and preparation activities - we may be back in 2010!

KVT, Tappex's technical distributor responsible for Germany will be exhibiting @ the Fakuma Show in Friedrichshafen, S.Germany this month.
